Dead Island is a video game created for Microsoft Windows PC, Xbox360 and PlayStation 3, developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver. This game has the exciting elements of a horror, action and adventure movie. The game is centered on the challenge of survival to fight zombies. The players are in for the ultimate melee combat with zombies in a far flung tropical island.
The Dead Island Game Plot
Dead Island Game is set in the island paradise of Banoi, Papua New Guinea, which is home to the luxurious Royal Palms Resort. It is said that the island is still primitive, having only the areas of the resort developed however leaving a very big part of it still untouched, many of its inner places not yet seen by the western world. The setting starts where the players have come to enjoy the private island on a holiday. An unexplained epidemic breaks out in the island and instead of a dream paradise, the island is immediately transformed into a chaotic, gruesome and very dangerous place to be in.
The first part of Dead Island Game will provide a tutorial wherein the character being played wakes up with a shouting man trying to make sure if they are not dead and still human. The player then awakens and checks out the place they are in and rambles outside to see if they are any more survivors they can help. Here starts the action when the player now encounters zombies and tries desperately to survive and help any living survivors in Dead Island.
Characters and Enemies
There are four characters that can be played interactively in the Dead Island Game, namely: Xian Me, a female hotel staff member which belongs to the assassin class; Logan, a male former football star who is classified as “jack of all trades”; Sam B, a male ex-rapper belonging to the tank class; and Purna, a female bodyguard of the leader class.
All other details have not been disclosed. However, all of the abovementioned characters are categorized as heroes. Each character is equipped with a different skill and trait when it comes to hand to hand combat fight encounters with zombies. The Assassin Class are deemed to be experts in knives. The “Jack of All Trades” has a little of all skills and traits of all the other classes. The Tank Class is envisioned to be a blunt weapons expert. Lastly, the Leader Class is considered to be highly skilled in ranged weapons.
Although very little is being given on any information of the zombie enemies that these hero players will be encountering in Dead Island Game, there will be zombie categories such as standard zombies and “special class” zombies, the latter to be more powerful and difficult to get rid off than the standard zombies. Shared details of the possible zombie enemies are that of the “The Suicider”, ‘The Butcher”, “The Thug”, the “Ram” and “The Downer”, their powers and strengths have yet to be discovered.
As chaos and dead inhabitants of the island transform into hideous zombies, these four heroes will be challenged to protect human survivors across various hiding places in the island and look for ways to escape possible doom in the Dead Island Game.
The Dead Island Gameplay and Features
The Dead Island gameplay features an open world type of video game wherein a player roams a virtual world and factors can be changed depending on the player’s course of action within the game. This island game is in melee combat form in the first person with up to a maximum of four co-operative players. The virtual environment is highly interactive and provides for customized weaponry, as well as RPG elements to enable the characters to develop and progress.
In the Dead Island Game, numerous macabre zombies will be encountered. Zombie classes are categorized as standard zombies and the “special class” zombies are more powerful. The “experience system” and the “skill tree” system will be available in the game. A provision of a stamina bar is in place, wherein after a player has exceeded the allowable action limit will need to stop fighting to allow the character to regain strength and stamina before going back to fight. For added challenge and element of surprise, certain levels and scenes will require players to make use of flashlights in dark places in daytime scenes and at night time. As the setting is a tropical island, no changes in season will be available in the Dead Island Game.
